As 2008 winds down, my mind hops and skips over the many joys of the year. And my mind stumbles over some of the not-so-great moments of 2008.
As 2009 approaches, I breathe deeply the anticipation of all the grace, peace, and prosperity in the year to come. And I occasionally catch my breath because fear of the unknown is a natural (human) reaction.
So...here's my application of the continuous reminder that fear is just the absence of love.

As I've begun to find (and love!) praying more and more present in all parts of my day, I've made a few discoveries:
Those discoveries did not happen over night. Maybe they can, but for me they did not. They took time.
Time well made.
I praise you, God.
Help me know your Divine Self
that is within me.
Enjoy this beautiful season.
Love and blessings,

There can be pleasure in being alone. There's usually not so much pleasure in feeling lonely.
Being alone gives me time to think, to reflect, to meditate, to contemplate. And, surely, to do mundane things like read and write and cook and "veg."
Being lonely comes from not wanting to be alone. And the vicious circle makes me feel all the more alone...
Recognizing what alone and lonely share and how they are different helps.
But nothing helps more than realizing neither is Truth.
I enjoy you, God.
You are my instant, constant and abundant
supplier of love, joy and peace.
God doesn't supply those blessings from afar. They are delivered "in person" and mean I'm never alone.
Or lonely.
Love and blessings,

So much is said, written, and prescribed about worry...
and worry remains so prevalent.
These days we may have more to worry about than in the past.
That does not mean we have to worry. Worry really is a personal choice.
I loved hearing someone say, "Worrying is praying for what you don't want."
That stimulated this week's Prayer Prompt:
I honor you, God.
You remind me to pray
rather than worry.
Enjoy! Don't worry.

Saturday's run was a beauty, filled with grace.
No thanks to the gray, cold, wet weather.
At the start, I ran beneath this tree...
and reached up to brush the leaves with my hand.
One let go of its limb and stayed in my hand. I looked at it and never considered discarding it.
For the next 35 minutes the leaf ran with me. Smaller than my thumb, it cradled faithfully between my left thumb and forefinger.
Every so often I would look at it. I felt the whole world's beauty in its simplicity: tender veins, gentle yellow, slender stem, intricate edges.
After 10 minutes I sensed clearly God's presence in the leaf. And all around me. And in me. And powering every stride. And brushing me with the fine, cold mist. And sweetening each breath I took.
I was running with God. God was running with me.

For too many years I wrestled to make the Law of Attraction work for me.
My mind twisted itself into knots trying to believe I believed the LoA.
I said affirmations. I concentrated on wanting very specific things...even very specific amounts of money.
And when none of that worked, I made slight--ultimately, big--changes in the way I worked the Law of Attraction.
Sometime in the past few months, I've been blessed to understand that prosperity, abundance, wealth may manifest as "raw material." I've become aware that I have the chance to do some work on those raw materials, to turn that abundance into the results I desire.
I worship you, God.
You provide abundant ideas:
prosperity I put into action.
And the add-on was this. I clearly saw how prosperous I truly am, have been. The abundance of ideas is nothing new.
The blessing is seeing them as the answer to my wants--and as the opportunity to turn them into what I wish them to be(come).
The Law of Attraction doesn't require my mind to believe it. It's wonderful, though, that my heart knows it.

The energy and concentration required just to live this human life makes me give inordinate attention to my being. Brings lots of attention to my mind. Causes me to overvalue my feelings, my opinions.
My ego too often convinces me it serves my own good. I almost hear it say it helps me not only survive but also succeed.
It helps when I can remember that it's not all about me.
I adore you, God.
You are greater than my mind,
Greater than my heart.
This reminder, taken just once a day makes it so much easier.
If you wish, I hope you'll enjoy its use.

We live in physical bodies that take action in a physical world.
Impossible to deny we give a lot of focus to our physical being.
We live in a visual society, driven by commerce steered by media.
Impossible to deny we spend much of that focus on how we look, and much of our worry on looking good enough.
But most truly we are our spirit. The body is temporary; the spirit continues.
The beauty is truly within us. Our beauty expresses itself from within us. That beauty is so much more than our body, hair, face, size, shape, skin, clothes, muscles, posture.
Knowing we are beautiful does us good because it's true. We are beautiful; there's no reason to forget that.

I've recently had the wonderfully freeing "duh-scovery" that praying for prosperity is not about asking for monetary riches.
Books like Discover the Power Within (Butterworth) and The Quest (Jafolla and Jafolla) have helped with that. They clearly state the abundance God (Universe, Spirit, Source...) provides isn't necessarily money.
God provides abundant ideas and creative energy and opportunities for me to manage. I can then work with them to be(come) the prosperity I want/need.
But reading it once (or twice) isn't always enough. I've given myself this reminding affirmation:
